cheekymonkey Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Hi Guys - i have posted a few questions here before, and always had positive feedback. And so this brings me to my current fault. About in year ago i had the brake warning light come on, on inspection found that the n/s disc pad wire indicator had broken. As the pads were relatively new so i opted to leave them till i needed new pads, unfortunatly the mot recently found that the discs were worn and needed to be replaced. we replaced the discs and the pads - but the light on the dash board is still illuminated. Any thoughts would be greatly received. oh and i should tell you that i have a Galaxy 1.9tdi (115) Zetec 02Many thanks Quote

daveandsharan Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 My VW Sharan 2004 115SE needs new pads and discs all round. Anyone like to suggest what I might have to pay at main dealers or an independent. I have looked at the very detailed instructions on this site on DIY replacement but I'm not keen on putting my limited skills to practice on the braking system. Thanks dave Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Dave. I got the front pads and discs done for 100 quid at Quick Fit and the rears done last week for 135 quid at a local garage....so dont pay anymore than that.....infact if you can pay a lot less !!!! Good Luck. Paul Quote

DaveN Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I have the same problem, brake warning remains light on after both front pads were replaced. My mechanic insists that the brakes are OK and the leads are fine. He says that the problem could be a faulty sensor but these are expensive to replace. And it could be very expensive to find the faulty one by replacing each in turn. How can I isolate the problem? Will VagCom help? Quote

No Vag com will not tell you which pad is causing the problem, take each pad out and check them Radiotwo Quote
